A Village Tree

A Village Tree
by Chris Eden

A mighty Oak, which has given her life's resplendent years of beauty
To our Village, now stands solitary, ungainly:-a donquixote silhoutte,
Thrusting Static lance-like branches at an endless conducting sky;
Whose warm Sun, gentle Rain, pleasant Breeze beheld her in harmony-
High; presenting splendoured audience relationship to every passer-by.

Now it seems Meastro Sun, Symphonic Rain; Movement Breeze
Associate to orchestrate with vital-living woodwind trees,
Composing new musical sounds in contemporary melodies.

Transient, Silent, Somber, Dark; movement as- (adagio Bach) -
The gnarled old tree has set Life Free with surrending quiet dignity
To the universal unknown force: Mother Earth's 'Creative' Source.
I too am Born to die!
Again to - Be
In the Village perhaps
as a Sapling-Tree?
Amid warm Sun, gentle Rain,
pleasant Breeze
Singing New musical sounds, with Olden Melodies.
